Employment
Auditions:
- RBTL presents touring productions of Broadway shows and other live entertainment (as opposed to locally produced events), therefore there is rarely a need to audition locally for on-stage roles. However, touring companies occasionally look for local cast members for paid or unpaid cameo roles. There are currently no auditions scheduled. Please check back to this page for any audition announcements.
Union Jobs:
- RBTL's touring productions regularly hire local laborers staffed directly through designated Unions.
- Stagehands - IATSE Local 25
- Theatrical Wardrobe - Local 858
- Musicians - AFM Local 66
Volunteer:
- Ushers & Volunteers
RBTL utilizes the generous help of friendly and reliable volunteer ushers to ensure that patrons have a positive theatre-going experience. The primary responsibilities of Ushers are to assist patrons with ticketed entry, guide audience members to their seats, hand out programs, and direct patrons to locations within the West Herr Auditorium Theatre such as the restrooms, concessions, or coat check. Ushers also assist audience members in the event of an emergency. Ushers are overseen by a team of House Managers who schedule volunteers and teach proper procedures. When possible, Ushers are able to view the performance for which they are volunteering. For students needing verified volunteer hours, we are happy to help fulfill your school’s requirements. (Ushers must be at least 16 years of age.)The Rochester Broadway Theatre League also relies on dedicated volunteers to lend both special event and administrative support to the organization. RBTL Volunteer opportunities vary by project and range from assisting with administrative needs to greeting guests for special events to helping students participating in educational programming.
- Education Volunteers: Kindness Crew
RBTL utilizes the generous help of friendly and reliable volunteers as members of our Kindness Crew, focused on ensuring a positive theatre-going experience for K-12 students, many of whom are engaging in their first theatrical experience. A primary responsibility of the Kindness Crew will be to assist in greeting and seating school groups for Broadway performances at the West Herr Auditorium Theatre. Many positions will require the ability to climb multiple flights of stairs during a shift. Educational Volunteers will be overseen by the Director of Education, who will schedule volunteers and teach proper procedures. RBTL Educational Volunteer responsibilities vary by project and range from assisting with administrative needs to greeting students and families for special events to assisting students participating in educational programming. Volunteers with educational experience are especially welcome!
